Search and Rescue

As of 2018, LAAFB has 8 members that are available, at various levels, to participate in search and rescue activities that include ground pounding, 4X4 Search and medical response. We also have one trained ICS Section Chiefs (Planning, Logistics, and Operations)..

Medical Coverage


The LAAFB medical personnel cover local athletic events including High School and Mid School football games, foot and bike races, and horse shows and rodeos. The Brigade also provides first aid standby for various Community events such as Memorial Day ceremonies and the Festival de Los Alamos.

Included on the team are the following trained personnel:

3 EMT-Basic level trained personnel

1 NM First Responder/Wilderness First Aid trained personnel

3 members, in addition to those listed above, who have CPR certification

Community Service

Many Brigade members also participate in community events, usually proudly displaying our 1921 LaFrance Fire Engine in parades and driving Santa Clause at Christmas and by providing colorguards for various ceremonies.
